IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING A LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCY, PLEASE CALL 911.

CAPS provides crisis intervention services for students experiencing an urgent mental health concern. A crisis may include thoughts of harming self or others, experiencing a traumatic event, a significant loss, odd or intrusive thoughts, or other situations or feelings interfering with routine daily functioning.

CAPS crisis intervention services focus on ensuring student safety, problem-solving, identification of coping strategies, and providing appropriate referrals for additional support.

CAPS Counselors are available to provide crisis intervention during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM) via CAPS main telephone at 562-985-4001, or in person at the CAPS main office located at Brotman Hall 226

Support is also available to students after business hours, including weekends and holidays. To access crisis intervention services after business hours, please call the CAPS main telephone at 562-985-4001 and follow the instructions provided in the recorded message for your call to be transferred to a live mental health professional.
