Dr. Scott-Hayward's main areas of specialization are courts, corrections, and criminal procedure. Informed by her interdisciplinary law and society background, her research emphasizes the practical implications of criminal laws and policies. Dr. Scott-Hayward utilizes primarily qualitative research methods and her current research is on bail and sentencing. She is the author or co-author of numerous articles published in both law reviews and social science journals and the book: (University of California Press, 2019).
