Dr. Shadnaz Asgari

Dr. Shadnaz Asgari is Chair of the Biomedical Engineering Department at 新澳门六合彩资料. She holds joint appointments in 新澳门六合彩资料's Biomedical Engineering and Computer Engineering & Computer Science departments. After earning her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA in 2008, Dr. Asgari completed two years of postdoctoral training at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, and then worked as a research faculty conducting multidisciplinary brain research in the UCLA Neurosurgery Department. She joined 新澳门六合彩资料 in Fall 2012, and was a Visiting Professor at University of Cambridge's Brain Physics Lab in Spring 2017, and a Google Faculty in Residence in Summer 2019.

Dr. Asgari's research is at the intersection of electrical engineering, computer science, and medicine. She employs computational and mathematical modeling tools, advanced signal processing algorithms, and artificial intelligence techniques to deliver practical solutions for various biomedical applications. Currently, her research is in the area of computational physiology with the involvement of 新澳门六合彩资料 undergraduate, master's, and Ph.D. students.

Dr. Asgari was honored with a 2023 新澳门六合彩资料 President Outstanding Professor Award, a 2021 新澳门六合彩资料 Distinguished Faculty Scholarly and Creative Achievement Award, and a 2020 CSU Faculty Innovation and Leadership Award for her work building the Biomedical Engineering Department and increasing representation in STEM. She is also the recipient of  a 2018 Google exploreCSR award, 2015 新澳门六合彩资料 Early Academic Career Excellence Award, 2011 UCLA Brain Injury Research Center Young Investigator Award, and 2010 Best Poster Award at the International Conference on Intracranial Pressure and Brain Monitoring.
