Mammal Lab team

The Mammal Lab is world-renowned for its work in advancing our understanding of urban wildlife ecology and the evolution and behavior of mammals. However, maintaining our research efforts and providing enriching educational experiences for our students comes with its challenges.

Your contributions bridge these gaps, empower our research, and support the development of students into scientists through extensive hands-on training essential for their professional growth and success.

How Your Support Helps

Your support makes a significant impact. By donating today, you directly contribute to funding new studies on diverse topics such as urban coyote behavior and conflict with humans, antipredator behavior in striped skunks, and the evolution of defensive armor and coloration in mammals. Funds help pay for wildlife cameras, field supplies, travel costs to field sites and museums, upgraded computers and software, and materials for outreach with local classrooms.

For example, a donation of $250 would cover the cost of installing one wildlife camera station in a local schoolyard, and our graduate students run educational programs in science classrooms at those schools to show students the wildlife that lives in their neighborhood while contributing to our broader long-term urban ecology research program. Larger donations can fund entire projects and smaller gifts support purchases of supplies like batteries, SD cards, and bait.
