Club 61+
The Club 61+ Program is a targeted initiative at California State University, Long Beach (аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ), designed to support students who have earned between 61 and 75 units. At this critical stage in their academic journey, students are encouraged to explore internships, job shadowing, and career-focused activities that will prepare them for their future professions. The program connects students with experienced alumni and professionals who can provide valuable guidance, insights, and networking opportunities.
Through personalized mentoring relationships, the Club 61+ Program empowers students to make informed decisions about their career paths, develop essential skills, and gain the confidence needed to navigate the transition from college to the professional world.
Program Goals:
- Increase Student Participation: Boost engagement in career development activities, workshops, and networking events.
- Support Career Exploration: Provide students with access to mentors who can offer advice on internships, job shadowing, and career opportunities aligned with their academic and professional interests.
- Align with Long Beach Growth Sectors: Focus on preparing students for careers in key sectors identified by the Long Beach community, including Aerospace and Aviation, Healthcare, Ports and Logistics, Housing and Education, and Arts, Culture, and Tourism. (Not necessary to be in these fields to participate!)
- Foster Alumni-Student Connections: Strengthen the аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ alumni network by creating meaningful connections between alumni mentors and current students, fostering a community of support and collaboration.
- Prepare Students for Junior and Senior Years: Equip students with the skills, experiences, and professional networks necessary to succeed as they progress into their junior and senior years, setting them up for post-graduation success.
The Club 61+ Program is committed to helping students reach their full potential and achieve their career goals by providing them with the guidance and resources they need to thrive.
