Understanding the Discipline Process

Academic Employee Relations is available to consult with faculty, management, and union representatives to interpret the Collective Bargaining Agreements, Education Codes, and university policies relating to the discipline process.

Employees are entitled to union representation (PDF) during an investigatory interview, i.e., any time the supervisor questions the employee to obtain information which could be used as a basis for discipline or asks an employee to defend his/her conduct. If you have questions regarding the discipline process, please contact your union representative.
