Accounting majors will gain an understanding of financial and management accounting, taxes, auditing, and reporting procedures. There are two areas of emphasis in the accounting major: professional (public accounting) and managerial (private industry accounting). In general, a bachelor鈥檚 degree with an accounting major or 24 semester hours in accounting is required for entry into a professional position.
